Lactation Assitance

  Lactation Home Visits:

New clients: Lactation Home visits are arranged within 24 hours of your calling to make an appointment. Visits last approximately 90 minutes.

Please see the piece “What to expect when you see a lactation consultant”

I will take a prenatal and a birth history. I will examine your breasts and the baby’s oral anatomy. You will share with me your thoughts and concerns. You may not realize that you know more about what is happening than you are aware.

We will hopefully have a feeding session at both breasts. During this time we will try to address your questions and concerns.

Between breasts we will do a weight check.

Together we will write a care plan so that you can continue to work on the techniques that we have worked on together.

A consultation letter will be sent to your physician and your baby’s physician.

  Lactation Telephone or e-mail consulting

Established patients – (those who have had a home with this baby) No charge for follow-up phone calls.

Non-Established Clients – for telephone help, please have your credit card on hand. The charge for telephone assistance is $15.00 for up to 10 minutes and $1.00 for each minute there after. E-mail assistance will be charged at $10.00 per e-mail.

Most problems are best handled in person but some questions can be answered on the phone or through e-mail and I will be happy to do so. If it is more complicated I will tell you.

I look forward to helping you with your breastfeeding concerns
